- Background: The system default is for scaled fonts- a process which can
- make text unreadable if the requested font size is not available. Requested
- means, requested by the user from a font menu, or requested invisibly by an
- application.
-
- FKEY(ID=7): '+/- Font Scaling 1.1' is an FKEY to disable/enable Font Scaling.
- When scaling is disabled, the system will use the smallest font that is
- closest to the requested size. Text is written faster and is more readable
- than with a scaled font. Especially useful for lean systems with few fonts
- and point sizes. Supplied as an FKey Manager document. You can also install
- with ResEdit or FKEY Installer from DOTP (With the latter you must change
- the file type to 'FKEY' and the creator to 'QD15' with the appropriate
- utility).
-
- Font Scaling is reset to the default condition each time InitFonts is
- called (i.e. when just about any application is launched, including the
- Finder).
-
- INIT(ID=12): 'No Font Scaling' is an INIT file that when placed in the System
- Folder, will set the default to no font scaling. Of course it could also be
- installed in the System File with ResEdit. The FKEY remains fully
- functional.
